Day 28 of the Doodle Olympics - I just want to be clear, this is not a representation of how I think girls/women should be, I am myself, the complete opposite. This long legged lady appeared simply because I was listening to the Joy The Baker Podcast at the time, and they were talking girly, about pretty tights and such.
Day 29 of the Doodle Olympics - Shaky Little skater occurred after watching Dancing on Ice, there were a fair few shaky skaters celebrities on there, I was almost watching through my fingers.
Day 30 of the Doodle Olympics - A couple of thoughts got scrambled here, someone on Twitter was talking about Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and my other half was off work ill, and spent the day curled up on the sofa, watching Top Gear repeats.
Day 31 of the Doodle Olympics - I managed it, a whole month of doodles, one down, eleven to go. This little fella is what happens when I'm stuck for ideas, yes that seal does have a unicorn horn, and yes he is carrying doughnuts on it, where else would he keep them?

Words and Pictures again!
Day 24 of the Doodle Olympics
Day 25 of the Doodle Olympics
I am enjoying this daily challenge, but it is turning into a pretty mammoth challenge, and really eating into my time, I am pretty impressed that I have managed to make it to day 25... As you may have noticed, the last couple of posts have been showing crops of images, that is because I decided to start making sketches, that I could potentially develop, and show you at a later date, I appreciate that this may be quite dull for you at the minute - sorry! I'm quite excited about them, but they are time consuming, so although I haven't decided what I am drawing for day 26 yet, I imagine it is going to be something a little more spontaneous... hopefully... Watch this space! :)

If things are going wrong, stop drawing faces, and draw something else...
Day 18 of the Doodle Olympics - I will always show my doodle of the day, even if I hate it, but if things are refusing to go right, just move onto something else for a bit...
Day 19 of the Doodle Olympics - Not an out-of-proportion face in sight, just good old drawing from the imagination.

Cute Cats in the Rain, and Faces...
Day 15 of the Doodle Olympics - Illustration for my friend's baby shower, she likes cats....
Day 16 of the Doodle Olympics - I used to draw a lot of people in college, but that was about 15 years ago, and I haven't done much since, so during this challenge, I hope to practice, and get my skills back up to scratch. This image was in National Geographic, it is far from accurate, but she looks quite human, so it is a good start :)

Russian Dolls... again... :)
I ended up taking my painted little Russian dolls, and creating a collage out of them. They now have balloons floating out of their middles. I have popped my ladies over in my Society6 store, feel free to pop in and show them some love!

Secret Santa Revealed!
My Folksy Secret Santa has been revealed! It was Ali, from Miss Winnie Makes (click to go to her Folksy shop). I did guess correctly after doing a wee bit of investigating, but was too scared to ask! Thankfully, Ali let me know! Ali makes all kinds of knitted and sewn homewares, as well as adorable crochet brooches. My gift included a cute brooch, and cute little lavender cushions, in the sweetest fabric. Also note the lovely embroidery and button detail on the hanging blue cushion. I have been falling to sleep, so much more easily since I have had the scent of Lavender nearby. Thank you Ali!
You can also find Miss Winnie Makes on Twitter.

dawn bevins design site
How exciting! I now have my very own website! My other, slightly better half, has built it for me. He has put up with me leaning over his shoulder for a while now, and saying things like 'so, is that staying there?...' He has the patience of a saint! I still need to fill it up, so there will be more things being gradually added, so keep an eye out! I currently only deliver to the UK, starting off small and seeing how things go, but there is a link to Society6 in the 'About' page (as well as here, on the right of the post), and they sell worldwide! Exciting times everyone!!!

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
I want to be clear, I do not make New Years Resolutions, so I feel no shame in it already being January 3rd, and me already playing catch up :) I have spent the day, trying to get bits and pieces in order, so I can sit down and write my first blog post of the year.
How are you all, did you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year? Fubby and I stayed at home for Christmas this year, which meant Christmas for us, started even earlier. I know, that makes no sense, but it is true. It meant we had to get all gift buying, and wrapping, for our families done, well in advance, as we saw them in the two weekends before Christmas. Christmas day for us was very relaxed though :)
Look how lucky we were!
Now! Onto the New Year! I am going to set myself a challenge, lets call it Doodle Olympics 2012, maybe, you know to keep it topical, or Doodleathon etc. I will doodle/draw/paint/illustrate an image/images, by hand, or digitally, each day for the whole of 2012. I don't draw enough, I used to be quite good at it, and now I am not, so I need to make the time to practice. As you will see from the first two images, it hasn't exactly got of to a good start. After getting up late on January 1st, I'm not too sure where the day went, then I tried to develop the same little images on the 2nd, but I had picked up the only pencil lying around, which happened to be a big soft pencil that I didn't really want to use... there was a point to these little scrappy doodles, they are initial ideas for our wedding invitations... they will improve... well they had better! :/

I also want to highlight a couple of the presents in there, from my Folksy Secret Santa, I think I know who it was, but I still need to find out if I have guessed right :) Sorry it is small, I will have to take a photo of them alone at some point. In front of the orange box there are some cute little lavender cushions, and a crochet corsage brooch, and to the right of those, just passed the pink diary, is an adorable embroidered "Dreams" pillow, also with Lavender. They are such sweet gifts, and I love them all the more, as they are things that I know I wouldn't be able to make, I am pretty bad at sewing, and I can't crochet! I have also been sleeping brilliantly since I have had the Dreams pillow by my head at night - maybe a little too well, if the time that I woke up this morning was anything to go by ;)
Another wonderful little treat that occurred just before Christmas, was that I was runner up in a blog competition run by the very talented illustrator Mary Kilvert. I won this rather wonderful lavender cushion, that is illustrated with Mary's gorgeous little sheep, and Mary was good enough to post it straight away, just so I would have it in time for Christmas. This one is sitting in my living room!
