Day 257 of the Doodle Olympics - I'm not sure if this is a really big mouse or a really small tree? :)
Day 258 of the Doodle Olympics - I'm currently a little obsessed with old factories with brick buildings.
Day 259 of the Doodle Olympics - Boats...
Day 260 of the Doodle Olympics - Can't see the woods for a trees. A doodle based on a water colour tutorial I had been watching.
Day 261 of the Doodle Olympics - I felt the urgent need to draw a pirate with a big flouncy hat - as you do...
Day 262 of the Doodle Olympics - Another little mouse, what a greedy little girl!
Day 263 of the Doodle Olympics - Yet another little mouse, but this one is off on an adventure. He must have really strong lungs to lift that table!

Funny Faces
Day 243 of the Doodle Olympics - I've approached my doodles a little differently this week. A while back when I first had my Mac, I had a play with Photo booth - as you do - then never touched it again. I thought playing with my face might be quite useful when trying to develop characters and showing different expressions. So I returned to these rather silly photos and chose a different one to draw each day. Yes, all of these doodles are of me (well apart from one). :)

A Bear, Some Bees & Doggy Doo!
Day 187 of the Doodle Olympics - I thought I would have a break from posting small people doodles this week and go for something a little more eclectic, so here is a bear climbing a tree.
Day 188 of the Doodle Olympics - I had two images pop into my head as I was falling to sleep, so scribbled them down quickly in a notepad ready for redrawing. This was the first...
Day 189 of the Doodle Olympics - ... and this was the second... I don't know who they are.
Day 190 of the Doodle Olympics - We have been spending a fair bit of time walking alongside our local canal, and it is as though, as soon as the rain began to fall no one could be bothered to pick up their dog mess anymore. The fact is the rain doesn't wash it away very quickly, it is left there looking unsightly and ready for someone to walk in. It makes me very angry, shame on those dirty, disgusting, selfish dog walkers!
Day 191 of the Doodle Olympics - Penguin on holiday.
Day 192 of the Doodle Olympics - I've also been doodling some ideas around the idea of flora, so here is a flower.

Invasion Of The Small People
Day 180 of the Doodle Olympics - I have been playing around with kids in costumes... not literally, just drawing, and here is the dog costume. I've been painting the costumes freehand in acrylic, to start trying to get some painting practice in, you can see the result of the dog costume below.
Day 181 of the Doodle Olympics - So we are back with attempting to draw small people, I apologise if this goes on for a while. I plan to work on getting their proportions right, then I might try and get their eyes down, and if that goes well I might even try to make them look like the people they are supposed to look like :/
Day 182 of the Doodle Olympics - Ooh look there, it is another small person... pointing...
Day 183 of the Doodle Olympics - Small person with wonky eyes looking at something.
Day 184 of the Doodle Olympics - Small person in nappy (or diaper for any of my American friends). :)
Day 185 of the Doodle Olympics - Small person eating brains... no not really :) That is chocolate from an eclair around his mouth, not brains.
Day 186 of the Doodle Olympics - A quick doodle of something other than a small person, just in case it was getting a bit tedious. I'm a bit frustrated, I know I just need to practice, but it is hard to not to be doing as well as I've done before. I know, practice, practice, practice!
What else has been going on this week... As I mentioned above I've started painting freehand with acrylics. I think sometimes the temptation is to sketch everything first, to get it right before slapping the paint down, well I'm just slapping the paint down, and I'm really enjoying it. These guys below, can for now be found in my Society6 shop as prints, cards and phone skins, and there are a few more to follow!

Losing The Doodle Mojo & Lost In Organza Flowers
Day 152 0f The Doodle Olympics - Squirrels with acorns sleeping in a tree.
Day 153 of the Doodle Olympics - Random pattern.
Day 154 of the Doodle Olympics - We went out for a walk and did some bunting spotting, lovely to see communities making such an effort.
Day 155 of the Doodle Olympics - I think this is the reason I've lost my doodle mojo. I'm running out of paper, so I'm trying to use up an old pad but it is really no joy to draw on, it is shiny and thin and horrid.
Day 156 of the Doodle Olympics - We've had a bit of rain again and I really do love umbrellas, such a great shape.
Day 157 of the Doodle Olympics - I'm getting the urge to make a trifle. I've never made a trifle before, not a proper one. When we were kids trifles were made of fruit set in jelly and swiss roll sponge, and solid custard, but I want to make a lovely sloppy custardy and creamy one :)
Day 158 of the Doodle Olympics - Bendy buildings in the rain.
The rest of this week has seen me continuing with organza flowers. I have been snipping out flower shapes for hours on end, here you can see my pile of snipped bits. It's a bit of a nightmare as the little scraps cling to everything and everyone like velcro. To give you some idea of the amount of work, I've made 59 flowers, each consisting of 4-6 cut out flower shapes, which means I've cut out and melted the edges of between 236 and 354 flower shapes.

Bird Bird Bird, the Bird is the Word...
In keeping with my new efforts to be more organised and consistent, I'm going to aim to update the Doodle Olympics every Wednesday, along with anything else I've been working on. In theory it will be called "What's going on Wednesday", but I'll probably stick to more decorative titles, just for fun.
Day 131 of the Doodle Olympics: So after the last doodle in the last post, I decided that I was quite taken with birds, so began drawing them... daily... :/ I like this guy, like the other bird he wears a jumper, and I like to think that he is flapping out his wing, and saying 'Aww shucks - you guuuuyyyss'.
Day 132 of the Doodle Olympics: "But I don't want to go in the water"
Day 133 of the Doodle Olympics: This little chap, looks down on people a bit (not literally of course, he's too small). He thinks he is right about everything, but I'll let you into a little secret... he is nearly always wrong, but there is no telling him!
Day 134 of the Doodle Olympics: This guy is looking pretty worried, his wings are all up in the air, and he has got himself into as bit of a flap, maybe he has just seen the peacock below...
Day 135 of the Doodle Olympics: This Peacock is a real lady... or is she?? We all know that the flamboyant peacocks are the males - just saying!
Day 136 of the Doodle Olympics: Derren the duck, he doesn't dare to swim - What is wrong with him?
Day 137 of the Doodle Olympics: This dashing fellow is Speckled Spencer, he likes tea, crumpets, and a spot of afternoon dancing.
Other things I've been working on... Popping my Zombie Kitty Plays Cupid collage onto Society6, I mentioned that I had finished it last week, but it is now available online. I've also been reading Steampunk Accessories, and making appropriate notes, in order to write a review for UK Handmade. It is proper homework, that is why I'm allowed, tea, strawberry milk, and a cookie! :)
