This Week... Bending Bark, Baking Bread & Books

This week we were attempting to unravel some rolled up bark... Fubby made some rather wonderful bread, for us to scoff with out baked camembert... Team Bevins Johnson made brown paper flowers - I cut the squares and the pentagons, and he is some kind of origami ninja! A new book arrived ready for review. Have a great weekend everyone! :)

Bells, Bells & Hairy Bikers

Day 111 of the Doodle Olympics - Bells, decorative bells. I am thinking a lot about weddings at the moment, what with trying to make paper flowers, and trying on dresses etc. So what do I think of when I think of weddings? Bells. It's a bit silly really, considering we won't have any bells at our wedding.

Day 112 of the Doodle Olympics - A second day of bells - I'm pretty sure it will be over soon... then maybe it will be horseshoes or wedding cakes! :)

Day 113 of the Doodle Olympics - Or hearts! They remind me of weddings too, and I still can't stop decorating things in circles and flowers...

Day 114 of the Doodle Olympics - More circles and flowers, a bit of french, and well, a bit of good ol' British weather talk ;)

Day 115 of the Doodle Olympics - I was watching The Hairy Bikers on Bakeation last night, soooo.... Well it seemed like a good idea at the time, but truth be told, I have only ever drawn faces from photographs, never from moving people on television. The question mark is purely an apology for a bad doodle! Still they were in France which fits quite well with the current french theme I have going on...

Day 116 of the Doodle Olympics - Today is blinkin' miserable outside, someone said we are supposed to be getting a months worth of rain in one day. However, I have clearly been inspired by the big drops hitting my window, and fortunately I don't have to go out in it, so all is well! :)

New Items at dawn bevins design

SHOP NAME 1 SHOP NAME 2 SHOP NAME 3 SHOP NAME 4 SHOP NAME 5 SHOP NAME 6
Some new items have been appearing on my website this week, some you can see here. Hopefully, there will be a lot more activity on there over the coming weeks, with more products, and more changes. Fubby warned me, that once the site was up and running, it didn't mean that it was finished, that it would continue to evolve. He was absolutely right, I can already see things that aren't working for me, things that need moving, or in some cases, removing. Keep your eyes peeled! :)

This Week... Cakes, Baby Showers & Books

This week, there has been some baking, and last minute prep for the baby shower. There was an earlier Saturday morning than I am used to, setting up the baby shower. There were some lovely ladies to spend the afternoon with, and I think overall, it went pretty well. There was a walk into Woking, that produced some books for our wedding, from the Relate shop, for the bargain price of £1.90! Finally, there has been a lot of me hiding away indoors, away from the rain, drinking green tea!

Finally, a Doodle Olympics challenge update. I have so many bits of paper with doodles on, lying around, I need to post them before I get really confused. I'm back home now for a bit, with no big plans, so hopefully I can actually keep on top of things!

This Week x2 - Cards, Cards, Cards & Pom Poms

Yet another two weeks have skipped by, I was off in Norfolk last week, and seems as my parents aren't online, I went completely dark for a good three/four days, which was actually quite nice, but I am now running behind on pretty much everything! So...
Last week... I painted a wee card for my friend's little boy, Fubby and I went to see our parents in Suffolk and Norfolk. My niece and nephew (and my sister) were also at my parents, and asked Fubby to teach them how to play cards. He showed them how to play Black 2, so we played that, and then we played it again, and again, and again and... then we visited Hunstanton so the kids could play and eat ice creams... then there was some more Black 2...

This week... We left my parents with the back of the car filled with conifer trunks. We took them to Fubby's parents, where he and his dad, cut them into little chunks and cut little slots in them, for place card holders. I also prepared for the baby shower by making tissue paper pom poms, and the tissue paper broke my scissors! I also made Rocky Road - hopefully it will make it to the baby shower! :)
