Folksy Friday - Purple

For this week's Folksy Friday I have opted for the theme of 'purple'. Next week sees me performing various bridesmaid duties for my best friend's wedding, the colour theme of which is purple and silver. I myself will be adorned in purple, so I thought it rather fitting to celebrate by continuing the colour theme here. I have also opted for 8 rather than 6 Folksy sellers, to try and make up for the fact that I won't be able to join in with Folksy Friday next week.

Hello Nature!

It is a little built up and busy where I live, but I am incredibly fortunate to have a canal towpath close by. This weekend I finally remembered to take my camera with me, in the hope that I might come away with something that inspires my clay work somewhere along the line.

Finally, what is any walk without a little Einstein?

Folksy Friday - Potential

This week I am giving a shout out to the Folksy sellers who sell materials. I sell materials rather than gifts myself at the minute, and I sometimes feel a bit lost on the site, surrounded by all the wonderful gifts and treats, and why not, we all love gifts, treats and pretty things, but more of that next week, this week it is all about some of the folk, who sell products, that have the potential to be pretty things :)

Folksy Friday - Sweet Treats

On Wednesday I went to see Sex and the City 2 with one of my best friends, I quite enjoyed it, but then again I used to watch the T.V show too. Now obviously it isn't everyone's cup of tea, so inspired by my cinema visit, my topic for Folksy Friday this week is Sweet Treats, showing some homage to the superb pick n mix that I gobbled up while I watched the film :)

And Voila!

Today starts on a very happy note, as I have just found out some of my beads have been featured on Voila, a european polymer clay site (thank you to the anonymous comment on my last post :) ). To have some of my beads sets featured, with some of the other artists on there is a real privilege. I am happy with my bead making, but I really do think that I still have a lot to learn and a long way to go, so to get recognition from others this early on, and to be featured on their site is truly wonderful!

So I thought I would write a little about my new folksy shop. It only opened last week, but I am loving being on there. I am finding the site easy to use, and the community supportive and friendly. I am only planning on selling my beads on there for now, although that may change if folksy are able to add sections to shops. I think I will also reconsider my postage, as at the minute it is UK only, however I think I will extend to Europe if any interest is shown. Being brand new at selling beads means I wanted to start off small, selling just in the UK and seeing where it went, learning as I go, but the truth is I will go wherever people want me. If you are a jewellery maker, or if you know of a jewellery maker who likes to source unusual beads, please don't hesitate in looking at my shop, pointing them in my direction, or contacting me.

So to finish, I thought I would show of some of those beads that are in my shop :)

Thanks for reading!

My first Folksy Friday

This week I celebrate opening a store on Folksy, and making my first sale. So in the spirit of things, I decided this evening that I wanted to try and join in with "Folksy Friday", and share with you some of the other sellers on Folksy, and their wonderful treasures.

So here it is. Please click on an image to visit the seller's shop :)

As you may have noticed, there is a theme, I wonder if any of you can guess where I'll be tomorrow??? That is why I am settling for Thursday night, rather than Friday, I am going to be a bit busy with my niece and nephew :)

Finally I want to say a big thank you to Haptree, for creating a template for the images, I was clueless, but the template and tutorial were very useful and easy to follow :)
